When I try to start a new project or open an existing one, I get an Error. "Error retrieving available libraries: Graphite.Common.LocationSettings cannot be Null”. I reinstalled the software and followed the installation guide very carefully. But no luck! Can you please help me resolve this issue?

This error happens when Graphite Studio cannot find the folder that contains the GraphiteGTC.config file or the LibraryStore folder. This because organizations use different areas to store different sets of files.

Fix is as follows:

In C:\Program Files (x86)\Graphite GTC\Graphite Studio\Graphite.exe.config do the following:

  • Uncomment <add key="configPath" value="Graphite.config" />
  • Update the value above from Graphite.config to {The correct path}\GraphiteGTC.config - Don't forget the GTC
  • Save and Close

In GraphiteGTC.config do the following:

  • Make sure the paths for localProjectPath=... point to the right folders (Change %USERPROFILE% to the right path)
  • Save and Close

This issue has been fixed in version 6.1.1.2. Graphite Studio Installer makes sure both the GraphiteGTC.config and the Local Library Store is placed in the local My Documents folder.
